Walden Middle School Demolition

Just off of the 75/85 downtown connectors former Walden Middle School was slated for total demolition. This three-story, 88,000 sqft building was built in the 1970s was shut down in 2008 due to low enrolling rates in the area. The land is being used to construct the Walden Athletic Complex to be shared by Grady High School and Inman Middle School. The athletic complex will be the host of many Football, Soccer, Lacross, Softball, and Baseball games. The field house has lock rooms, restrooms, concessions, storage, and office space. All fields will be lined with new athletic turf, stadium lights, and security cameras. This project was funded by the citizens of Atlanta from SPLOST tax.
